Sitecore Hackathon 2017!

Here at Tanasuk, it seems like we have become Sitecore Hackathon addicts!! J

Again and for the second year we participated in Sitecore Hackathon organized by Askhay, it was rely an amazing experience. And for the second time we succeed to build a full functional sitecore module in less than 24 hours.

In this post I will share both social and technical experience I had during this year amazing Hackathon, first let’s talk about the interesting passion during the one day Hackathon, team work, food, sleep and support all you will feel during this day, of course you will be exhausted at the end BUT still it is amazing.

So, What we built during Sitecore hackathon 2017?

We choose not to repeat ourselves as we did a Habitat feature during Sitecoe Hackathon 2016 we choose to go with integration category using Sitecore Data Exchange Frame (DEF). We thought of many ideas and at the end we decide to build an integration between Sitecore and Trello using DEF and I believe the challenge was to learn how DEF actually works?! J

Basically Trello is a system that "enable you to organize and prioritize your projects in a fun, flexible and rewarding way", in simple words a cards are used to manage tasks, and for each task it can be assigned to specific user and this card also has states (In progress, pending , done … ).

What we thought of is to make it easier for content editors to manage their cards without leaving SitecoreJ , we build a SPEAK application that will display the cards that assigned to the current logged in content author, from their content author can read his card details, work on it, and then he can mark it as completed, all without having to leave sitecore.
