Sitecore 9.2 has been released on July, 22, 2019 with a lot of new features and enhancements, In this series of posts we will go through these new cool features and talk a little about each one, in this post we will talk about a new feature by which Sitecore will offer a centralized location where we can view all personalization rules across the sitecore instance.
As you probably know, Sitecore provide a personalization feature which allow you to personalize your website content through a very powerful personalization engine, that offer a lot of out of the box rules, this is can be done through the page presentation details as you can see on the following screenshot, and of course until the release of 9.2 you will need to check a page per page to see if you have a personalization being configured but with 9.2 things changed!
Sitecore and through the Experience Optimization application is now offering a centralized location for all Sitecore instance personalization rules, where a user can find the personalized pages and the a list of components personalized and rules associated with each component.
You can access the Sitecore Experience Optimization through Launch Pad as you can see from the following screenshot:
Once you open Experience Optimization you will see different tabs on the left of the screen, we are interested in the last tab "Personalization", and under it you can find "Active Personalization Experiences" and once you click on that a list is displayed showing the pages in your instance with personalization rules, see the following screenshot:
A lot of information is displayed includes:
- The name of the page that contains personalized components.
- The website that the page belongs to.
- The number of personalized experiences this page contains.
- The number of combinations of personalized components on the page.
- The number of components involved.
- Effect in Test – the highest effect if there is a personalization test running.
Also, if you click on any row, more information is displayed as you can see form the next screenshot, like (variations (experiences), component(s), rule(s)...etc):
